Welcome to City Moon Business. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of our website, booking channels, vehicle rental services, and related services provided by City Moon Business in the Sultanate of Oman.
By accessing our website, making a booking, paying any amount, collecting a vehicle, or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, together with our Rental Policies, Booking, Cancellation, and Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and any applicable rental agreement signed at the time of vehicle delivery.

2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website or any service offered by City Moon Business, you agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations of the Sultanate of Oman.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the website or proceed with a booking or rental.
3. Eligibility to Rent
To rent and drive a vehicle from City Moon Business, the customer must meet the company’s eligibility requirements.
3.1 The minimum age to rent a vehicle is generally 21 years, unless a higher minimum age is specified for a particular vehicle category. Certain vehicles may require the driver to be 25 years or older.
3.2 The customer must hold a valid driving licence that is legally accepted in the Sultanate of Oman for the entire rental period.
3.3 The customer must present original and valid identification documents at the time of vehicle pick-up.
3.4 City Moon Business reserves the right to refuse any booking or rental if the customer does not satisfy the company’s age, identification, licensing, document, payment, or verification requirements.
4. Booking and Reservation Confirmation
4.1 A reservation is considered confirmed only after City Moon Business receives the required payment, deposit, or other confirmation accepted by the company.
4.2 Once confirmed, the selected vehicle category and rental dates are reserved for that customer and may no longer be available for other bookings.
4.3 All bookings remain subject to final document verification, vehicle availability, operational requirements, and company approval at the time of delivery or collection.
4.4 City Moon Business reserves the right to refuse, modify, or cancel a booking where reasonably necessary for legal, operational, safety, verification, or fleet-related reasons.
4.5 Bookings are generally confirmed by vehicle category rather than by a specific make, model, or color. City Moon Business will do its best to accommodate customer preferences, but a specific vehicle unit cannot be guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing.
5. Pricing, Rental Basis, and Payment
5.1 Rental charges are generally calculated on a 24-hour basis, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
5.2 Daily, weekly, monthly, promotional, or custom rates may apply depending on the vehicle, season, duration, or agreement made with the customer.
5.3 Additional charges may apply for extensions, additional drivers, accessories, delivery or collection arrangements, excess kilometre usage, fuel differences, cleaning, smoking-related issues, tolls, parking charges, traffic violations, payment processing, or other services requested by the customer or arising from the rental.
5.4 The customer agrees to pay all rental charges, fees, penalties, deposits, and other amounts due under the rental agreement and applicable policies.
5.5 City Moon Business aims to maintain transparent pricing and disclose applicable charges in advance whenever reasonably possible. However, additional charges may still apply depending on the rental agreement and the actual use or condition of the vehicle.
5.6 Accepted payment methods may include credit card, debit card, cash, bank transfer, payment link or e-invoicing provided by Bank Muscat, and, where applicable, money transfer services such as MoneyGram or Western Union.
6. Security Deposit
6.1 A refundable security deposit of 75 OMR may be required for visitors and tourists who do not hold a valid GCC driving licence and valid GCC identification document acceptable to City Moon Business, in accordance with the company’s document and eligibility requirements.
6.2 This security deposit is collected to cover potential outstanding traffic fines, toll charges, parking charges, violations, penalties, or other unpaid liabilities connected with the rental period.
6.3 Subject to verification that no outstanding charges remain, the security deposit will normally be refunded within 2 to 3 weeks after the vehicle is returned.
6.4 City Moon Business may retain, delay, or deduct from the security deposit until all traffic-related, government-related, and rental-related liabilities connected with the rental period are identified, transferred, confirmed, or cleared.
6.5 If the total outstanding amount exceeds the security deposit, the customer remains responsible for paying the balance.
7. Vehicle Pick-Up and Return
7.1 The customer must collect and return the vehicle at the agreed date, time, and location.
7.2 The vehicle must be returned in substantially the same condition in which it was delivered, subject to fair wear and tear.
7.3 The customer must return the vehicle with the same fuel level recorded at pick-up, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7.4 The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition and free from misuse, neglect, or damage beyond normal use.
7.5 City Moon Business reserves the right to inspect the vehicle after return and assess any additional amounts due, including but not limited to fuel differences, damage, cleaning charges, fines, tolls, parking charges, smoking-related charges, and late-return charges.
7.6 If the vehicle is returned before the agreed end of the rental period, no refund will be issued for unused rental time or unused rental days unless City Moon Business expressly approves otherwise in writing at its sole discretion.
8. Late Return and Extensions
8.1 The customer must obtain prior approval from City Moon Business for any extension of the rental period.
8.2 Unauthorized extensions are strictly prohibited and may result in additional charges, penalties, cancellation of future extensions, recovery action, or withdrawal of the vehicle.
8.3 Delays in return may be charged between 1 OMR and 6 OMR, depending on the vehicle type and the duration of the delay.
8.4 Any delay exceeding 4 hours may be treated as a full additional rental day.
8.5 To avoid delay or unapproved extension charges, the customer should notify City Moon Business as early as possible if an extension is requested.
9. Permitted Use of the Vehicle
9.1 Vehicles may only be driven within the Sultanate of Oman unless prior written approval is obtained from City Moon Business.
9.2 Approval to take the vehicle outside the Sultanate of Oman is limited to Omani nationals and Oman-resident expats, subject to prior approval by City Moon Business and any applicable conditions.
9.3 The vehicle must only be used in a lawful, careful, and responsible manner.
9.4 The following are strictly prohibited:
- off-road driving or use in unsuitable terrain
- racing, drifting, speed testing, or competitive driving
- overloading beyond the permitted passenger or weight capacity
- towing, pushing, or pulling another vehicle or object without written approval
- use by any unauthorized driver
- use while under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prohibited substances
- use for ride-sharing, taxi services, delivery operations, or any other commercial purpose unless expressly approved in writing by City Moon Business
- unlawful use of the vehicle or use contrary to these Terms, the rental agreement, or applicable law
- unauthorized modifications to the vehicle, including decals, stickers, wraps, roof racks, spoilers, mechanical changes, or structural alterations
9.5 The customer is fully responsible for all consequences resulting from prohibited, unauthorized, or improper use of the vehicle.
10. Fuel, Vehicle Care, and Maintenance
10.1 The customer must return the vehicle with the same fuel level recorded at pick-up.
10.2 If the fuel level is lower at return, refueling charges or other applicable charges may apply.
10.3 All vehicles use petrol. Certain vehicles may require M95 or higher. For 4×4 vehicles, M95 or higher is mandatory. The customer must always use the correct fuel type specified for the rented vehicle.
10.4 During the rental period, the customer must take reasonable care of the vehicle, including paying attention to warning lights, tyre condition, temperature alerts, and general safe operation.
10.5 Any loss or damage caused by misuse, overheating, neglect, reckless operation, or failure to respond appropriately to vehicle warnings shall be the customer’s responsibility.
11. Accidents, Damage, Breakdown, and Repairs
11.1 Any accident, collision, theft, damage, malfunction, warning light, overheating, or breakdown must be reported to City Moon Business immediately.
11.2 In the event of an accident, the customer must also report the incident to the Royal Oman Police (ROP) and obtain an official police report where required.
11.3 The customer must not authorize or carry out any repair without the company’s prior approval.
11.4 All repairs shall be arranged, approved, or managed by City Moon Business or its approved service providers only.
11.5 Where the customer is at fault, the customer may be responsible for repair costs, recovery charges, loss of use, rental charges during downtime, and any related expenses, subject to the applicable insurance terms and exclusions.
11.6 If serious damage occurs and the loss is not covered by insurance due to breach, misuse, negligence, intoxication, unauthorized use, or excluded conduct, the customer may be held responsible for the full loss to the extent permitted by law and contract.
11.7 If the vehicle breaks down during the rental period, City Moon Business should be contacted immediately. The customer will be responsible for repair costs only where the breakdown is caused by the customer’s fault, including negligence, misuse, or failure to take reasonable care of the vehicle.
12. Traffic Fines, Tolls, and Government Charges
12.1 The customer is responsible for all traffic fines, parking charges, toll charges, impound fees, legal penalties, and other government-related charges arising during the rental period.
12.2 City Moon Business does not charge an additional administrative fee for processing traffic violations.
12.3 If the vehicle is impounded, seized, detained, or held by any authority due to the customer’s acts or omissions, the customer shall bear all associated costs.
12.4 For customers with an Oman or GCC national ID and driving licence, traffic fines may be transferred directly to the customer’s national ID and driving licence, subject to applicable procedures.
12.5 For customers without a GCC national ID and driving licence, traffic fines and related charges may be deducted from the security deposit. If the total charges exceed the deposit amount, the customer remains responsible for paying the balance.
12.6 City Moon Business may charge, deduct, or otherwise recover such amounts from the customer or from any deposit held, in accordance with the rental agreement and applicable policies.
13. Insurance and Liability
13.1 Vehicles are generally provided with comprehensive insurance, subject to the insurer’s policy terms, limits, conditions, and exclusions.
13.2 This may include Loss and Damage Waiver (LDW), under which the customer’s financial liability for accidental damage may be limited to:
- 150 OMR if the renter is 25 years or older
- 200 OMR if the renter is under 25
13.3 Minor repairs, scratches, or small damages are not covered under the LDW liability limit and remain the customer’s responsibility.
13.4 For repairable damage, the customer may remain responsible for the actual repair cost where such cost is lower than the applicable liability cap.
13.5 Insurance cover may not apply, or may be reduced or rejected, in situations including but not limited to:
- off-road use
- reckless or dangerous driving
- racing or drifting
- driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- unauthorized driver use
- gross negligence or intentional damage
- breach of these Terms or the rental agreement
- prohibited commercial use
- loss of personal belongings left inside the vehicle
13.6 Where available and feasible, assistance with insurance claim procedures may be offered for an additional service charge. Agent charges may range from 30 OMR to 100 OMR, depending on the complexity of the case.
14. Cleaning, Smoking, Pets, and Condition Fees
14.1 The vehicle must be returned in a reasonably clean condition.
14.2 Cleaning charges may apply if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty, stained, sandy, soiled, or in a condition requiring special cleaning.
14.3 Standard cleaning charges may apply for normal additional cleaning needs. If special or deep cleaning is required, higher charges may apply depending on the condition of the vehicle.
14.4 Smoking inside the vehicle is strictly prohibited.
14.5 If the vehicle is returned with smoke odor only, a 20 OMR smoking penalty may be charged.
14.6 If smoking results in burns, stains, ash residue, or other smoking-related damage, additional cleaning, repair, or restoration charges may apply depending on the extent of the damage.
14.7 Pets are not allowed in the vehicle unless prior approval has been obtained from City Moon Business.
14.8 If the vehicle is returned with pet hair, odors, stains, or other pet-related condition issues, cleaning charges may apply depending on the level of cleaning required.
15. Cancellation, No-Show, Changes, and Refund Policy
15.1 Once a reservation is confirmed, the selected vehicle category and rental dates are blocked specifically for that customer.
15.2 If the customer cancels a confirmed reservation, the amount paid to secure the booking shall be non-refundable.
15.3 This is because City Moon Business allocates the vehicle category and reserves the rental dates in reliance on the confirmed booking, which may prevent the company from accepting other reservations for the same period.
15.4 Failure to collect the vehicle on the agreed pick-up date and time, without prior approval, may be treated as a no-show, and the booking amount paid may be forfeited.
15.5 No refund shall be issued for:
- customer-initiated cancellation
- no-show
- shortened rental period
- unused rental days
- early return of the vehicle
15.6 The customer may request a change to a booking instead of canceling it, but all requested changes remain subject to vehicle availability and company approval.
15.7 Booking modifications, including changes to rental period, vehicle category, accessories, or other details, may result in additional charges depending on the nature of the change, applicable rates, and availability.
15.8 A refund shall only be considered if City Moon Business cancels the booking, is unable to provide the booked service, or expressly approves a refund in writing at its sole discretion.
15.9 Where a refund is approved, the processing time may vary depending on the payment provider, bank, card issuer, money transfer service, or financial institution involved.
15.10 Any approved refund may be subject to deduction of non-recoverable payment gateway fees, bank charges, transfer fees, card commissions, money transfer charges, administrative charges connected to the payment method, and currency conversion costs, where applicable.
16. Additional Drivers, Accessories, and Vehicle Requests
16.1 Only authorized drivers listed in the rental agreement are permitted to drive the vehicle.
16.2 Additional drivers may be allowed, subject to approval by City Moon Business.
16.3 Additional charges may apply for additional drivers depending on the vehicle type and rental terms.
16.4 Child seats, booster seats, Wi-Fi hotspots, and other approved accessories may be available for an additional fee, subject to availability.
16.5 Accessories should be requested in advance during booking or before vehicle collection to help ensure availability.
16.6 Refunds for unused accessories may be considered only in certain cases, depending on the terms agreed at the time of booking and whether the accessory was unused and returned in its original condition.
17. Vehicle Withdrawal and Recovery
17.1 City Moon Business reserves the right to withdraw, recover, or repossess the vehicle without prior notice where reasonably necessary, including in cases of:
- unauthorized rental extension
- non-payment of rental charges, fees, or penalties
- misuse of the vehicle
- breach of these Terms or the rental agreement
- failure to provide valid documents
- circumstances indicating risk to the vehicle, the company, or third parties
17.2 Any towing, transport, retrieval, recovery, or repossession costs may be charged to the customer.
17.3 City Moon Business shall not be responsible for personal belongings left inside the vehicle following return, recovery, repossession, or withdrawal.
18. Customer Responsibility and Indemnity
18.1 The customer is responsible for all loss, damage, liabilities, claims, penalties, fines, and expenses arising from the customer’s use, misuse, possession, or control of the vehicle during the rental period, except to the extent directly caused by the company’s own fault.
18.2 The customer agrees to indemnify and hold City Moon Business harmless from claims, costs, losses, and liabilities resulting from breach of these Terms, unlawful use of the vehicle, negligence, or misuse by the customer or any unauthorized driver, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
19. Limitation of Liability
19.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, City Moon Business shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, travel disruption, missed appointments, or inconvenience arising from vehicle unavailability, breakdown, delay, or cancellation.
19.2 Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where exclusion is not permitted under applicable law.
20. Personal Property
20.1 All personal belongings placed in the vehicle are at the customer’s own risk.
20.2 City Moon Business is not responsible for any personal items left, lost, stolen, or damaged in the vehicle, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.
21. Website Content and Service Information
21.1 Vehicle descriptions, photographs, specifications, prices, availability, and service information shown on the website are for general information and may be updated, corrected, or changed without prior notice.
21.2 Published rates, specifications, features, and conditions may vary depending on the vehicle, season, operational requirements, or direct agreement with the customer.
21.3 City Moon Business reserves the right to correct any pricing, content, or technical errors appearing on the website.
22. Privacy and Data Use
22.1 By making a booking or using our services, the customer agrees that City Moon Business may collect, use, store, and process personal information for booking management, customer verification, vehicle rental administration, payment handling, legal compliance, and service improvement.
22.2 Personal data shall be handled in accordance with the company’s published Privacy Policy and any applicable legal obligations.
23. Amendments to Terms
23.1 City Moon Business reserves the right to update, revise, or amend these Terms at any time without prior notice.
23.2 The version published on the website at the time of booking or use of service shall apply, unless otherwise stated in writing.
24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Sultanate of Oman. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the rental agreement, or the use of the company’s services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts and authorities in the Sultanate of Oman, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
